Vital Monitor

Vital Monitor

The VmedD Vital Monitor is an upcoming extension of the VmedD Care Monitor for contactless patient monitoring in medical facilities with a focus on measuring vital signs.

The sensor system measures essential vital signs contactlessly and from a distance. The continuous measurement process allows meaningful data to be determined. Based on measured vital signs and movement patterns, the sensor system recognizes possible emergency situations (e.g., falls, abnormal vital signs) and forwards them accordingly.

Contactless

Contactless monitoring while maintaining the patient’s privacy.

Heart Rate

Contactless measurement of heart rate.

Respiratory Rate

Contactless measurement of respiratory rate.

Temperature

Contactless measurement of the body temperature.

Detection of falls

Detection of falls throughout the entire room.

Detection of absence

Detection of the presence and absence of patients in the bed / room.

Forwarding of urgent notifications

  • Connection to the local call system
  • Forwarding of acute notifications to DECT service phones

Evaluation

Central provision and documentation of data via a browser application / mobile app.

Bed rest detection

Detection of bed rest times as a quantitative supporting measure for the assessment of sleep quality.

Decubitus prophylaxis

Measurement of movement profile to detect decreasing or missing micro-movements, as well as measurement-based support for the prevention of bedsores.

Advantages of the Vital Monitor

  • Easy-to-use wireless sensor technology for monitoring vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature).
  • Minimizes the risk of infection in both directions.
  • Contactless measurement and monitoring ensures the patient’s safety is maintained.
  • Can be used as a redundant system to reduce false alarms.
  • Improves the quality of care in a non-acute medical setting.
  • Detection of falls and patient bed absence.
  • Easy integration of reports into hospital information systems.
